 Fluxus
The 1960s art movement Fluxus ("flow" in Latin) still inspires fashion entrepreneur Martin Paquette. Paquette opened his flagship boutique, named for the movement, in Larchmont Village last spring. Paquette's merchandise celebrates the attitude of the mod '60s with a bohemian spirit and a dose of haute couture, integrating some retro qualities but consistently showing a contemporary flair. For women he offers simple, flattering cuts incorporating comfortable, tactile fabrics that flow with a natural, sexy ease. With its spare white walls and exposed ducts, the intimate, minimalist space has the vibe of a hip loft. In a corner is a small men's collection ("Mr. Fluxus") .
