Wish
Artist Yoko Ono unveils her participatory work, Wish Trees, through Nov. 9. The installation consists of living trees identified with Southern California; visitors are invited to write their wishes on pieces of paper and hang them on the branches. Wishes from Pasadena will be joined with wishes from all over the world; they'll be buried in capsules in the area surrounding the Imagine Peace Tower, Ono's public art project in memory of John Lennon, on Videy Island off the coast of Reykjavík, Iceland. The tower, a column of light emanating from a base with a radius of about 33 feet, is lit for two months each year from Oct. 9, Lennon's birthday, through Dec. 9, the anniversary of his death.
